Notwithstanding the thousands of databases and billions of documents available online from LexisNexis®, there are a number of documents which would not ordinarily be included in our databases—either because they fall outside of the range of conventional coverage (such as lower trial court decisions, briefs, pleadings and filings), or because they are extra-judicial documents (such as government-issued reports). In both cases, however, LexisNexis recognizes that many of our customers may want to view these documents, and we’ve included them in the Newsworthy Litigation Documents database.
Some of the major litigations that have been added to Newsworthy Litigation Documents include cases involving O.J. Simpson, Martha Stewart, Enron and the Orange County Bankruptcy. Recent cases that are online include United States v. Scooter Libby, United States v. Zacarias Moussaoui, and North Carolina State Bar v. Nifong. Many older cases remain online under links to Extra Archives.
In addition to case law material, Newsworthy Litigation Documents include major reports issued by entities that would not normally appear in any other database. Recent reports include the Situation Report for New Orleans and the 911 Commission Report.

When you first pull up Newsworthy Litigation Documents, you are given a choice to view a table of contents or to conduct a search. The table of contents shows the most recent cases with links back to older cases (through the Extra Archives links). The search option allows you to search for specific terms within documents. For instance, a search of name (simpson) would retrieve all 347 case documents involving O.J. Simpson, without the need to use the table of contents.
