Electronic Filing Expands
(January 19, 2004) LexisNexis® File & Serve has expanded in the state of Texas as part of the state-sponsored TexasOnline initiative. TexasOnline is a statewide e-government effort that includes everything from driver's license renewal to electronic filing of court documents.
Law firms have used LexisNexis File & Serve since 1996 to file into Jefferson and Montgomery counties in Texas, but TexasOnline now adds El Paso, Upton, Fort Bend, and Bexar counties. Additional counties, including some of the largest in Texas, will be going live in the coming months, eventually bringing e-filing statewide.
