Locating Expert Witnesses
(October 28, 2005)

If you’ve ever had to locate expert witnesses you know how time consuming the task can be.  You’ll need to review case law, jury verdicts, news publications and a host of other sources.  To aid in this quest, www.lexis.com® has added four new expert witness databases:

  • JurisPro Expert Witness Directory

  • SEAK National Directory of Experts

  • SEAK National Directory of Independent Medical Examiners

  • SEAK National Directory of Physicians’ Counsel

These directories include the experts' names, areas of expertise, qualifications, contact information (including website links), and how many times the expert has testified in the last four years.

And if you find yourself looking for an expert with a specific area of expertise in a particular location, you can use segments to define your search -- i.e., Expertise (Internal Medicine) and State (New York) and City (New York).
