Did You Know? There are New Error Messages on LexisNexis!

Have you ever spent time putting a search together very carefully, only to have that very same search rejected by lexis.com® due to some unknown error in the search? This can be very frustrating, especially if the reason for the rejection is not apparent. Well, your troubles are over because we have added several new error messages to lexis.com.  These messages make it very clear where the error occurred in your search, and you can then figure out how to fix it. Here is a list of some of the new error messages:

Search:  she said because and however
Error Message:  No searchable terms were detected

Search:  civil disobedience and date aft 12/.31/2007
Error:  An invalid date was detected

Search:  fraud! and or
Error:  Consecutive search term connectors were detected

Search:  child! Or dependent w/3
Error:  A search term must be specified after a connector

Search:  company(Microsoft
Error:  A closed parenthesis must follow an open parenthesis

As you can see, the new error messages are a great improvement on the old method.  There are currently 20 new error messages available, with up to 60 on the way by the end of the year. If you need help understanding the error messages or how to correct your searches, contact customer service at 1-800-543-6862.
