LexisNexis Announces Alliance with Telebase to Make Corporate Linkage Data Easily Available to B2B Portals DAYTON, OH, May 02, 2001 - LexisNexis today announced an alliance with Telebase, a division of Office.com Inc., to extend availability of the Directory of Corporate Affiliations linkage database on the Internet. Telebase is the developer of the iSolutionsâ program that allows Web sites to efficiently make premium “pay-per-use” information available to their customers. DCA is published by National Register Publishing, which is a unit of the LexisNexis Group. The LexisNexis Group is the global legal and business information division of Reed Elsevier plc. Under the terms of the agreement, Telebase will enable widespread access to the Directory of Corporate Affiliations™ from any Web site interested in making the information accessible to its users. In addition to providing the necessary technology infrastructure to Web-enable the database, Telebase also provides the technology to access DCA on a pay-per-use basis. A direct-to-end-user application can be found at http://www.bizlinkage.com. DCA is a comprehensive resource that provides instant insight into more than 137,000 parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries and divisions worldwide. This allows users to easily determine “who owns whom” and to establish a hierarchy of corporate ownership all the way down to the eighth level of corporate linkage. The database has coverage of public and private companies worldwide and was formerly available only on a subscription basis. “The combination of DCA’s unique content and Telebase’s technology will enable Web sites to provide access to valuable corporate linkage data with little or no development effort,” said Seth Horwitz, Telebase director of operations. “The DCA data helps guide users through complex corporate reporting relationships to quickly zero in on business opportunities throughout the hierarchy.” “Users of DCA find its linkage data to be a key part of their due diligence efforts when extending credit to other businesses, assessing suppliers, researching potential conflict of interest issues, cultivating new business opportunities, or initiating some other type of business relationship,” said Tom Pierson, director of business development for the LexisNexis Corporate and Federal Markets unit. “This partnership will allow us to dramatically expand access to that database to potentially hundreds of B2B portals, communities and verticals on the Web. With the Telebase solution, integration of DCA content will be easy, quick and profitable as partner sites will share in the pay-per-use revenues generated by their users.” Telebase, a division of Office.com Inc., is an innovative leader in designing, managing and marketing online information services that help people find the information they need when they need it.
