ISO Forms Alliance With LexisNexis to Expand Distribution of ISO Policy Forms to Non-Insurers

JERSEY CITY, NJ AND DAYTON, OH, July 10, 2002 - Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO) and LexisNexis have entered into an agreement that allows LexisNexis to distribute ISO policy forms to their customers, primarily lawyers and law firms.

This is the first time that ISO has licensed a third party to distribute ISO policy forms to non-insurers, further expanding the scope of one of its core services — policy forms for all 18 ISO lines of insurance.  LexisNexis customers will now enjoy the convenience of utilizing ISO’s policy forms without having to disrupt their legal research by exiting the LexisNexis service.

Under this accord, LexisNexis, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc., has a non-exclusive worldwide license to provide ISO forms electronically to customers through its dedicated network.

Before this agreement, it was difficult for non-insurers to get ISO policy forms. Our licensing agreement with LexisNexis will make ISO forms more easily available to entities other than insurers,” said Domenick J. Yezzi, Jr., ISO’s vice president for specialty commercial lines.

“Our alliance with ISO will result in a tremendous time savings for customers by enabling them to link to key insurance forms directly from the LexisNexis service,“ said Leigh Sempeles, vice president, publishing and large law firm markets.  “We areproud to be the only online legal information provider to provide such a service.”

LexisNexis works in partnership with its customers to tailor and integrate valuable information content and productivity tools into their daily workflow.  As a result,“LexisNexis continues to equip its legal and business customers with the necessary tools to make confident, successful business decisions,” said Sempeles.

ISO is a leading source of information, products and services related to Property and liability risk.  For a broad spectrum of commercial and personal lines of insurance, ISO provides statistical, actuarial, underwriting and claims information and analysis; consulting and technical services; policy language; information about specific locations; fraud-identification tools; and data processing.  In the United States and around the world, ISO serves insurers, reinsurers, agents, brokers, self-insureds, risk managers, and insurance regulators and other government agencies.  For more Information, visit: www.iso.com.
