Global Securities Information, Inc. and LexisNexis Form Alliance
LexisNexis Will Be Integrated with GSI’s LIVEDGAR™ product

WASHINGTON, DC, August 15, 2002 - Global Securities Information, Inc. (GSI) and LexisNexis announced today an alliance whereby LexisNexis, the global leader in legal, news and business information services, will now offer GSI’s LIVEDGAR product through the LexisNexis™ service.

“With the addition of LIVEDGAR’s real-time securities filings to our arsenal of securities resources, legal professionals now have a one-stop shop for complete securities research,” said Leigh Sempeles, vice president, Large Law Firm Markets. “This furthers our commitment to providing comprehensive and authoritative securities information and services so securities professionals can make confident, informed decisions.”

Under the terms of the alliance, subscribers to the LexisNexis service will be able to easily access GSI’s LIVEDGAR product from within LexisNexis. Links in the LexisNexis and GSI services will allow securities researchers to move between the services to take full advantage of the specialized benefits each service offers legal professionals.

“Now customers will be able to move from securities case law research in LexisNexis to searching the entire SEC universe on LIVEDGAR as quickly as if they were in the same service,” said Phil Brown, CEO of GSI. GSI’s LIVEDGAR includes the following features:

  • Full-Text Search Capability of the Entire SEC Universe — In addition to EDGAR filings, users now have access to paper-submitted filings like F-1’s, 20-F’s, and 6-K’s.  It is now possible for users to review SEC speeches, releases, regulatory content, sworn statements and enforcement actions, among other things.

  • ’33 Act DEALS — Research public offerings, find source documents and download data directly into spreadsheets. Coverage spans all industries and contains U.S. and non-U.S. filings.

  • SEC M&A database — Find comparable mergers and acquisitions deals (public or private companies) in more than a dozen industries. Small cap, middle-market, and large cap deals -- all available in one source.

  • No-Action Letters — Today’s filings, plus yesterday’s too. (Archives go back to 1971.) And plan for tomorrow with real-time alerts. The GSI No-Action Letter database combines value-added content, leading-edge technology and domain expertise to give one of the most powerful no-action letter research tools available.

  • International Prospectuses/144A — Tap into everything you need to find the right international prospectuses, private placements, comparable international prospectus transactions and precedent language.

  • Research Library — Reduces the time and increases the productivity of research by providing solutions to hundreds of transactional precedent questions.

  • SEC Library — Provides access to the many documents, rules, forms, filings, bulletins, and other materials available on the SEC Website and much more, in an easy-to-use format that is fast and convenient.
In addition to being available through LexisNexis, GSI’s content will continue to be available  electronically through GSI’s LIVEDGAR Web platform. The highly successful LIVEDGAR Web platform is one of the premier SEC research tools within the legal industry and is used by 100% of the AmLaw 100 firms.
