DAYTON, OH, April 14, 2004 - The Supreme Court of Georgia today announced the selection of LexisNexis U.S. as the new publisher of its Official Reports, the state’s official case law. LexisNexis, a leading provider of news, business and legal information services, is the current publisher of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated

"As the publisher of both the Official Reports and the Official Code, users of these publications in Georgia stand to benefit greatly through a consistent and comprehensive presentation of information," said Leigh Trippe, vice president of Government Relations, LexisNexis. "This partnership will result in the Official Reports becoming the premier source of Georgia case law as well as a primary element of the LexisNexis® Georgia Total Research System."

As part of the agreement, LexisNexis will provide the official reports of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals of Georgia decisions throughout the year. In addition, LexisNexis will provide advance sheets to be published on a weekly basis.

"We are extremely pleased to have LexisNexis publishing both of these vital sources of information for the people of Georgia," said W. Scott Henwood, Reporter of Decisions, State of Georgia. "The depth and breadth of information that LexisNexis is able to bring to these publications will be of great benefit to the people who use this information every day."

The contract with LexisNexis will begin July 1, 2004. Current Official Reports subscribers will automatically continue to receive advance sheets and bound volumes from LexisNexis after that date.
