DAYTON, OH, February 08, 2005 - "Litigators and transactional attorneys are the largest consumers of factual discovery information and business and financial information, respectively. LexisNexis recognizes this and continues to be the only provider able to deliver all of the legal information, publications and news services that are critical to the success of our legal customers' businesses," said Lou Andreozzi, President and CEO, North American Legal Markets, LexisNexis.

Andreozzi is referencing the addition of hundreds of critical news and business sources for law firms in the United States as well as courts; state/provincial and local governments; and law, tax and accounting schools in the U.S. and Canada beginning March 1, 2005.

The additional content, offered through an exclusive agreement with Factiva®, a Dow Jones and Reuters Company and a leading global provider of digital business content and services, provides legal practitioners around the globe with integrated access to a full-spectrum legal research system together with an enhanced premier business news service. On March 1, LexisNexis will offer more than 425 sources from Factiva that are considered full-text cover-to-cover sources and include many key practice-area specific publications as well as the following:

  • The Wall Street Journal, including the Asian, European, and Sunday editions;

  • Barron's;

  • Reuters newswires, including EU Highlights, News and Washington Daybook Reports;

  • Dow Jones newswires, including the Asian Equities Report, Australian and New Zealand Report, Business News, Capital Markets Report, Chinese Financial Wire, Commodities Service, Corporate Filings Alert, Emerging Markets Report, Energy Service and International News;

  • The Globe and Mail (Canada); and

  • Moody's Investors Press Release Service and Moody's Investors Service Ratings Delivery Service.
In addition, LexisNexis legal customers will continue to receive the current superior collection of legal, news and business offerings, which include The New York Times, The Washington Post, Matthew Bender®, Mealey's, Shepard's® Citations Service, Bloomberg, CCH and Bureau of National Affairs. Additional publications and news services provided by Factiva will continue to be added to the LexisNexis collection of 20,000+ news and busines sources going forward.

"With the addition of these critical sources — many of which will now be available from the same service for the first time — LexisNexis expands its already impressive collection of news and business sources to the legal community," said Andreozzi. "Legal practitioners using the LexisNexis service will continue to have the particular publications they need most are here as well as the insurance of having the most content — and the most local publications — for those situations when they need a wide breadth of coverage."

As a result of these enhancements, legal professionals, librarians and para-professionals in law firms and court systems will be able to use the familiar LexisNexis interface to search a much broader range of today's leading business news sources and to receive automatic updates on news about subjects of special interest.
