Global Broadcast News and Political/Public Policy Blogs
inewsnetwork is a global broadcast network that provides manual broadcast notations, translations and verbatim transcripts in English and manual notations in Spanish, French, Dutch and Portuguese. inewsnetwork affiliates share and distribute broadcast content that reaches all major media markets in 32 countries on five different continents.
USNews.com published by U.S. News & World Report provides breaking and competitive news. Examples of such content include investigative stories on activities conducted by defense contractors at Abu Ghraib. USNews.com also features blogs by writers Michael Barone, an authority on American politics, and John Leo, one of the nation’s foremost commentators on public and social policy.
Economic, Company and Executive News and Compliance
The Associated Press Financial News provides detailed coverage of the top 1,000 U.S. companies, plus major international corporations. Coverage includes world market news, quarterly earnings announcements, executive changes, regulatory actions, mergers and acquisitions and new product developments in a full range of industries. AP Financial News goes beyond the top stories of the day to offer breaking coverage of top companies and financial markets around the world.
The WorldCompliance™ Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) Database contains approximately 500,000 profiles of PEPs, their family members and close associates. With the final version of section 312 of the USA PATRIOT Act published in January 2006, this new content addition provides a timely resource for investigating PEPs. The World Bank—World Development Indicators contain statistical data for more than 600 development indicators and time series data since 1960 for more than 200 countries. Data includes social, economic, financial, natural resources and environmental indicators.
The World Bank—Global Development Finance provides more than 200 historical time series since 1970 and country group estimates. Data is available for 136 countries that report under the World Bank Debtor Reporting System. It contains data on total external debt stocks and flows, aggregates, and key debt ratios, along with a detailed, country-by-country debt analysis.
GuideStar offers information about the programs and finances of more than 1.5 million IRS-recognized nonprofit organizations, including information from their IRS form 990 filings. GuideStar promotes public disclosure for and about tax-exempt organizations in order to help people connect with information about America’s nonprofit community.
Sheila Greco Associates (SGA) provides corporate and executive information. LexisNexis customers can now access:
SGA Executive Tracker company reports — which can be searched by company name, address, industry, ticker and size — provide a listing of the top executives for more than 4,000 companies, with links to more detailed biographies for each executive, and
SGA Executive Tracker executive reports that provide the name and current title with contact information, where available, and a brief biographical sketch for more than 160,000 executives. In addition, there are links to more detailed reports on their employers.
