NEW YORK, NY, May 16, 2006 - LexisNexis Group today announced that Michael Walsh has been named president and CEO of LexisNexis U.S. Legal Markets. LexisNexis Group is a leading provider of information and services solutions and is a member of the Reed Elsevier Group plc, a world-leading publisher and information provider.

Most recently, Walsh led the LexisNexis division responsible for serving the country’s large law firms with a comprehensive portfolio of client development, research, practice management and litigation products and solutions. Walsh joined the company as global head of LexisNexis Strategy and Business Development in 2003, where he guided strategically important projects and acquisitions, which today serve as the foundation of LexisNexis® Total Practice Solutions.

Walsh will continue to report directly to Andrew Prozes, global CEO of LexisNexis Group.

"Over the past year and a half, Mike spearheaded the drive to Total Practice Solutions in our large law firm division, and we’ve had outstanding results," said Prozes. "Mike has demonstrated a proven ability to succeed as well as a dedication to the company’s core values."

Prior to joining LexisNexis Group, Walsh was with Home Depot, where he led Strategic Business Development for Home Depot Supply. He also served as an associate at Weil, Gotshal and Manges in Washington, D.C., did a stint with General Electric, worked for Boston Consulting Group, advising large companies on strategic issues, and co-founded Infirmation.com, a portal for lawyers which merged with FindLaw. Walsh has a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School.
