DAYTON, OH, June 14, 2006 - LexisNexis U.S., a leading provider of information and services solutions today launched Caldwell’s Kentucky Form Book, Fifth Edition. This new edition, published by LexisNexis Matthew Bender in conjunction with the University of Kentucky (UK) /CLE, marks the return of a well-known forms resource with nearly a 100-year tradition in Kentucky.

"Caldwell’s is a part of the rich legal history of this state. I am pleased to be part of the team of experienced Kentucky attorneys that is rejuvenating this trusted resource for today’s Kentucky legal practitioners," said Kevin Bucknam, Director of UK/ CLE.

The new Caldwell’s features nearly 200 chapters and 2,000 forms, including 200 official forms from the Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) and state agencies. On the accompanying CD-ROM and on the lexis.com service, two-thirds of the AOC forms are fill-in-the-blank forms powered by the free HotDocs Player. The 1,700 author-drafted forms are prepared by experienced Kentucky attorneys and are ready to be used with a word processor.

"I refer to Caldwell’s regularly to assist attorneys in locating and drafting Kentucky forms. Though previous editions are quite dated, they have always been very useful when searching for hard-to-find forms. Caldwell’s 5th Edition will provide attorneys with useful litigation forms as well as insights from many experienced Kentucky attorneys. This expanded set will enhance the practitioner’s understanding of the area of law experienced in today’s practice and will prove to be an essential research tool," said Jefferson County Public Law Library Director, Linda Miller Robbins.

A valuable addition to the LexisNexis collection of litigation resources for the state, Caldwell’s Kentucky Form Book offers more than just forms. Almost all of the nearly 200 chapters begin with a Practice Context that explains the legal framework and use of forms for the legal topic covered in the chapter. Practice Resources, such as drafting tips, case notes, and cross-references, follow the forms.

The LexisNexis collection of litigation resources for Kentucky practitioners now includes Caldwell’s Kentucky Form Book, Fifth Edition, Kentucky Instructions to Juries, The Kentucky Evidence Law Handbook, Fourth Edition (Lawson), and the Kentucky Evidence Courtroom Manual. All of these resources are part of LexisNexis Total Practice Solutions, the company’s overarching offering of solutions to help lawyers and law firms succeed in the business and practice of law. LexisNexis offerings are designed for the way legal professionals work, in all of the areas essential to their success, including Client Development, Research Solutions, Practice Management and Litigation Services.
