TORONTO, ONTARIO, Canada, October 19, 2006 - LexisNexis U.S., a leading provider of legal, news and business information services, today launched LexisNexis PCLaw 8 the latest release of its industry-leading time, billing, accounting and practice management software.

“Word and Outlook are two of the most widely used applications in law offices today, and are vital in helping firms deliver quality legal services to their clients”, said Georges Alves, Marketing Manager for LexisNexis Practice Management PCLaw. “The time expended using these programs often falls through the cracks because there is no simple way of recording it, resulting in lost time that the firm will never bill or collect.  With the PCLaw timer a user records the time as they work on a document or email and capture billable hours that might otherwise have been lost.”

PCLaw 8 includes a new Microsoft Office® toolbar which can be used by legal professionals to track their time as they create documents and emails in Microsoft® Word® and Outlook®.

Enhanced Integration with Other Productivity Software

Accountants and bookkeepers can now export PCLaw 8 financial data to Microsoft Excel® or Intuit® QuickBooks® for quick review and analysis. PCLaw 8 also strengthens its integration with LexisNexis Time Matters Practice Management software providing firms with the best front office back office combination available to law firms.

Bill and Report Customization

Bills are easier to design with PCLaw 8, which provides a drag-and-drop design tool and a custom calculation feature which allows firms to design bills to satisfy their most demanding clients. Also a new design layout feature helps users customize the look of key reports.

Additional new feature enhancements include; the ability to automatically save client bills as PDF files so users can easily locate and print them at a later date; an automatic client disbursement schedule which adds an administration fee to a client invoices when creating bills and a powerful global search feature that makes it easy to locate specific text in the database.

LexisNexis practice management solutions are part of LexisNexis Total Practice Solutions, the company’s overarching offering of solutions to help lawyers and law firms succeed in the business and practice of law.
