RESTON, VA. AND WASHINGTON, DC, April 27, 2006 - Inxight® Federal Systems Group, the leading provider of federated search, extraction and visualization solutions for government organizations, announced an agreement today with LexisNexis, U.S., a leading provider of information and services solutions, that integrates the Inxight ThingFinder® Professional into its Enterprise Data Fusion System for enhanced analysis of unstructured textual data.

By integrating Inxight’s ThingFinder Professional with the LexisNexis Enterprise Data Fusion System, LexisNexis Special Services is able to offer its customers in the intelligence community a massively scalable and powerful solution for the rapid refinery, processing, linking and analysis of vast streams of disparate structured and unstructured data. Through the integration of commercial and open-source information with classified and agency-specific data, analysts can now be empowered to derive richer context and discover hidden links between people, places and other associated entities, transforming disparate information sources into actionable intelligence.

"In order to effectively wage the Global War on Terror, intelligence analysts require effective analytical tools that enable them to discover unknowns and pinpoint specific information obscured within massive volumes of data," said Norm Willox, CEO of LexisNexis Special Services Inc. "By enhancing our data fusion and analytics offering with industry-leading fact and entity extraction technology from Inxight, we extend our commitment to providing the U.S. intelligence community with industry-leading solutions to assist them in their mission to anticipate, detect and defeat threats to our nation."

"We are excited about this agreement because it will provide our customers with a powerful solution," said David Guercio, chairman and CEO, Inxight Federal Systems. "LexisNexis offers leading-edge data fusion technology and deep data expertise in collecting open sources of information. When this is paired with Inxight textual analytics technology, we are truly able to provide the intelligence community with a solution that will set the bar for effective management and analysis of unstructured text."

Large-Scale Extraction

Inxight ThingFinder Professional can be integrated into virtually any application that processes textual information, enabling users to create relevant, meaningful structured data from unstructured data.

It provides advanced text analysis technology that automatically identifies and extracts key entities or other "things" from any text data source, in multiple languages, with no setup or manual creation of rules required. Inxight ThingFinder automatically identifies and extracts more than 35 key entities – such as people, dates, places, companies or other things – from any text data source, in multiple languages. This ability to automatically identify and classify relevant entities makes ThingFinder one of the most powerful text analysis and extraction tools on the market, providing faster, more accurate and actionable intelligence.

The LexisNexis Enterprise Data Fusion System is a proven and scalable technology that rapidly ingests, processes and links massive volumes of disparate data to enable richer contextual insight and complex analysis. The system, which can be quickly implemented behind agency firewalls in a secure environment, was developed from the same technology that drives the industry-leading Accurint product currently used by over 6,000 government agencies across the country.
