Auto-Graphics Offers Access to LexisNexis Academic
With Auto-Graphics’ AGent Search™, access to LexisNexis content and other sources
can be easily searched through one interface
DAYTON, OH, January 08, 2007 - Auto-Graphics, Inc. (AUGR.PK), a technology innovator providing library automation solutions for more than 35 years, and LexisNexis U.S., a leading provider of information and services solutions, today announced the integration and deployment of Auto-Graphics’ AGent Search™ federated search solution to enable students and faculty to search LexisNexis® content together with other sources through a single interface.
The integrated solution has been beta tested and deployed, and is now in use at a number of collegiate campuses. Schools already benefiting from the alliance include Southern Connecticut State University, Capitol Community College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Hartford. The rollout gives students easy access to the LexisNexis repository that includes more than 6,000 news, business, legal, medical, and reference publications.
“The continual product improvements being released by Auto-Graphics and LexisNexis to enhance content discovery and retrieval are outstanding,” remarked Carl Antonucci, director of Library Services at Hartford’s Capital Community College. “By combining the rich content of the LexisNexis databases with our other resources available through AGent Search, the students and faculty at Capital Community College benefit greatly. We are able to search everything from a convenient, single user interface.”
The robust yet simple functionality of AGent Search allows users to search multiple databases simultaneously and deliver aggregated results, allowing LexisNexis records to be displayed as part of a larger result set. Additionally, AGent Search allows results to be emailed, saved for later use or exported to bibliographic software.
Tim Fusco, vice president of publishing operations for LexisNexis Government and Academic Markets comments on why LexisNexis is working with Auto-Graphics. “The collaboration with Auto-Graphics and the integration of LexisNexis® Academic into AGent Search is ideal for us because it promises to increase access to LexisNexis content by academic researchers, improving their results and adding value for our library customers.”
Paul Cope, president of Auto-Graphics said, “The real world integration and deployment of AGent Search with the XML Gateway technology provided by LexisNexis illustrates Auto-Graphics’ commitment to invest in product enhancements and partnerships that are meaningful to students, librarians and faculty. As a result of this initial success, Auto-Graphics is in discussion with several other colleges and universities regarding the integration of LexisNexis Academic into their existing AGent Search applications. With LexisNexis, we plan on rolling out these other deployments in the coming months.”
