NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ, April 27, 2005 - LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell, the leading client development company for the legal profession, has introduced Group Profiles on martindale.com, a new Web-only marketing tool that allows law firms to add detailed overviews of their various practice areas or industry groups to the firm’s martindale.com listing.

Martindale.com, which is powered by the Martindale-Hubbell® database of more than 1 million lawyers and law firms, is the leading destination on the Internet for in-house counsel and members of the legal profession seeking biographical information about attorneys.

"Group Profiles provide the kind of objective information that in-house counsel and other legal market decision makers have requested in order to evaluate and compare law firms," said Paul Gazzolo, chief operating officer of New Providence, N.J.-based LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell. "This new offering enables firms to include details regarding their specific matter experience, as well as their most impressive presentations, seminars and other credentials within the industry or practice area being profiled. The result is a more comprehensive display of the firm’s capabilities and increased new business opportunities."

According to Gazzolo, the Group Profiles product was just launched last fall and there have already been more than 100 law firms sign up to create profiles, creating a database of more than 1,000 group profiles.

Most group profiles include a thorough description of the group, a list of services provided, an indication of practice area or industry focus by office, some representative clients, specific matter experience (e.g., jury verdicts, reported transactions, etc.), group presentations and seminars, links to sample RFP documents and links to the professional biographies for select attorneys in the group.

"This type of information showcases the indicators of experience and expertise within specific groups at a firm, and our Group Profiles present that information in a way that reflects how corporate counsel and other legal professionals have told us they evaluate lawyers and law firms," said Gazzolo.
