LexisNexis CourtLink® eAccess Goes Exclusive, Raising the Standard on Court Record Access and Litigation Support

BELLEVUE, WA, February 28, 2002 - LexisNexis CourtLink, Inc. said today that effective March 1, 2002, it will be the exclusive provider of its industry leading online court record service, LexisNexis Courtlink® eAccess. In addition, the company said West Group would no longer provide LexisNexis CourtLink eAccess via the West Gateway.

“By exclusively providing the eAccess service, LexisNexis CourtLink can ensure all users will realize the highest standards of court content, product performance and customer service,” said Ann Fullenkamp, chief operating officer, LexisNexis CourtLink, Inc. “No other company can offer users fast, easy access to the most comprehensive collection of court records across all jurisdictions from their desktops.”

To mitigate any possible disruption in service, LexisNexis CourtLink has initiated a special program to transition West users affected by this change directly to the feature- and content- rich LexisNexis CourtLink eAccess. For more information, visit http://www.lexisnexiscourtlink.com/index2.html or call toll free (866) 500-4955.

The LexisNexis CourtLink eAccess service enables users to search and retrieve case information from more than 200 million court records in over 4,000 federal, state and local court systems through a single online source. Users of the service include law firms, banks, insurance and title companies, screening and investigation agencies and the media.

LexisNexis CourtLink eAccess assists attorneys in many of the most critical aspects of managing litigation. It provides daily e-mail alerts about new cases and activity and tracks new activities in live cases. Its robust search engine and database of federal, state and local court records enable attorneys to collect timely and on point information and develop and execute effective legal strategies.

In addition, LexisNexis Courtlink works extensively with the courts, assisting them in the transition to sending and receiving information electronically and providing online access to court docket and record information.

“In today’s business environment, transactions must be conducted in seconds, not days. LexisNexis CourtLink, working with the courts, is bringing this same standard of efficiency to the court systems -- to the benefit of attorneys, librarians, paralegals and others who must navigate the complex judicial system,” said Fullenkamp.

“LexisNexis CourtLink eAccess is one of the many ways that LexisNexis partners with its customers to help them productively manage and effectively serve their clients,” she added. “The company’s services truly raise the bar for how litigation is conducted in this country and it is unmatched in its technology expertise and service offerings.”
