In 1997, CIS (LexisNexis Academic & Library Solutions) introduced
LexisNexis Congressional, the first title of the LexisNexis
suite of World Wide Web-based services. LexisNexis Web services
provide access to CIS flagship index and abstract access tools,
as well as online access to the full text of related government
and non-government sources.
LexisNexis Academic & Library Solutions market includes academic,
public, and state libraries, offering new general reference information
services tailored to the needs of these libraries. In 1998, LexisNexis
Academic & Library Solutions released LexisNexis Academic,
a Web service providing access to comprehensive news, business,
and legal information.
In 1999, LexisNexis Academic & Library Solutions launched Primary
Sources in U.S. History, a suite of Web-based full-text research
services. Enlisting the expertise of the editors of University Publications
of America, the Primary Sources suite provides extensive
coverage of a wide range of historical and multicultural fields
of study. Modules include Primary Sources in African American
History, Primary Sources in U.S. Presidential History, Primary
Sources in American Women's History and Guide to Microforms.
LexisNexis Statistical, LexisNexis Government
Periodicals Index, and LexisNexis State Capital join
the LexisNexis suite of premiere web-based research products.
