FEATURES

A Flexible Interface and Powerful Search Engine

The product’s user interface will appeal to researchers with varying levels of experience, while all researchers can appreciate the power of the LexisNexis search engine behind the product. Search by keyword and use the intuitive fill-in-the-blank forms or construct more complex searches with Boolean operators.

Top-notch Indexing

Take the guesswork out of retrieving relevant records when you rely on our editorial team’s careful indexing.

Selective Coverage of Valuable Publications

With retrospective coverage back to 1988, LexisNexis Government Periodicals Universe will enable you to locate more than 125,000 articles from the government’s most important periodicals. Annually, indexing is completed for approximately 10,000 articles from about 1,200 issues of more than 160 periodicals. Editors attempt to identify articles of research or general interest value. Articles of transitory interest or limited use outside the issuing agency are generally avoided, increasing the index’s value to researchers looking for relevant and enduring material.

Web Links

LexisNexis maintains a list of hyperlinks to government periodicals indexed within the product. Links are included for about half of the publications covered; those links are maintained regardless of whether the publication is active or inactive due to the enduring research value of the articles.

Timely updates

LexisNexis Government Periodicals Universe is updated quarterly (March, June, September, and December). With each update, the service adds bibliographic information for approximately 2,500 articles that reflect the enormous diversity of federal interests.
