Continuing the Tradition of CIS at LexisNexis

Niki Hume (far left) - started in 1975 as a document control clerk and was interviewed by the original owners, Jim & Esthy Adler. She began as Esthy’s assistant until she assumed additional responsibilities in upper management. Nikki currently is a Manager of Content Acquisition.

Hsu Hsing - hired in 1978 as a Documents Control Clerk at Micropublishing Services Department. In 1980 transferred to CIS Editorial Department as a Documents Control Chief. She now works in the Acquisition Department as a Content Specialist, Legislative & Executive sources.

Vanessa Hubbard - started with CIS in 1981. Her initial position was Assistant Accuracy Editor on the Hearings Project. Vanessa currently works as an Academic Editor.

Catherine Jervey (center) - started out in 1980 in ASI acquisitions, and in 1981 became an abstractor/indexer in CIS Index. As Director of Editorial Operations for Legislative, Historical, and Public Policy Services, Cathy led the project to redesign LexisNexis Congressional, which launched in 2005 featuring a powerful, new interface that allows users to access multiple congressional collections through a single search.

Arthur Edwards (last row) - began working for CIS in 1981 as a legislative history specialist. Art currently works as a Legislative Research Analyst.

Steven Hoyle - started in 1986. His first position was abstractor for Regulatory Information Service. He currently works as an Editorial Content Analyst.

Robert Haberl – began working at CIS in 1980 as a CIS Index bibliographic specialist. He is currently an Academic Editor.

Timothy Shank (not shown) - started as an Abstractor-Indexer in 1980. Tim currently is an Editorial Content Analyst.
