Applied Discovery's Founders Named Finalists for "Entrepreneur Of The Year"
Company Recognized in 2003 Ernst & Young Awards Program

May 22, 2003, Seattle, WA — Applied Discovery, Inc., the leading provider of electronic discovery services, today announced that co-founders Richard Corbett and Michael Weaver have been named finalists in the 2003 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® Awards program in the Pacific Northwest in the "Technology" category. Each year, the Entrepreneur Of The Year awards recognize the business achievements of entrepreneurs who "develop new technologies, create faster ways to distribute goods and services, and improve the quality of life for people around them." Companies previously honored with the Entrepreneur Of The Year award include the following: Starbucks; eBay, Inc.; Dell Computer Corp.; America Online; and Yahoo!, Inc.

"We are thrilled to receive news of this honor," said Michael Weaver, co-founder and CEO of Applied Discovery. "The demand for electronic discovery services is growing at an astonishing pace, and this recognition by the broader business community confirms the vitality of this market and the strength of our business model."

This recognition also follows closely on the heels of Applied Discovery's selection as "Service Provider of the Year" in the 2003 WSA (formerly Washington Software Alliance) Industry Achievement Awards. The WSA program celebrates the Washington State-based companies that demonstrate the most exemplary service within the information technology industry.

"This nomination is further confirmation of Applied Discovery's position as the leader in the field of electronic discovery," said Richard Corbett, co-founder, executive vice president, and general counsel of Applied Discovery. "Applied Discovery has been at the forefront of this industry since its inception, and continues to lead the way in developing technology that dramatically improves the speed and effectiveness of the legal discovery process."

This recognition comes as Applied Discovery expands its service to all major legal markets. In keeping with its rapid revenue growth, the company has tripled the size of its sales force since 2002, and continues to enter new markets. In February 2003, Applied Discovery expanded its presence and opened a larger office in Washington, D.C. That growth was followed in April 2003 with the expansion of operations in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The company plans to announce significant growth in additional cities in the coming months.

According to Tim Tasker, partner and program director at Ernst & Young, the list of past Entrepreneur Of The Year winners is a virtual "Who's Who" of business leaders. "It's a real honor for our entrepreneurs to be recognized. I predict this year's winners will be particularly noteworthy, given the courage and endurance required to manage through the ongoing downturn."

Applied Discovery's client base continues to expand through the country's Top 100 law firms and Fortune 500 corporations. The company's client roster includes law firms such as the following: Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, L.L.P.; McDermott, Will & Emery; and Sullivan & Cromwell, as well as corporations including Pfizer, 3M, and AT&T Wireless.
