2003 Press Releases Applied Discovery's Founders Recognized as "Entrepreneurs Of The Year" 2003 Ernst & Young Awards Recipients Announced June 20, 2003, Seattle, WA — Applied Discovery, Inc., the leading provider of electronic discovery services, today announced that co-founders Richard Corbett and Michael Weaver were named "Entrepreneurs Of The Year" in the 2003 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® Awards program in the Pacific Northwest in the "Consumer and Business Services" category. The announcement was made on June 19, 2003, in an awards ceremony at the Seattle Sheraton Hotel. Each year, the Entrepreneur Of The Year awards recognize the business achievements of entrepreneurs who "develop new technologies, create faster ways to distribute goods and services, and improve the quality of life for people around them." Companies previously honored with the Entrepreneur Of The Year award include Starbucks; eBay, Inc.; Dell Computer Corp.; America Online; and Yahoo!, Inc. "We are truly honored to receive this acknowledgment," said Michael Weaver, CEO of Applied Discovery. "Despite the economic downturn, our company has been thriving and growing for the past four years. This award is recognition of both the strength of the electronic discovery market and Applied Discovery's business model." This award follows closely on the heels of Applied Discovery's selection as "Service Provider of the Year" in the 2003 WSA (formerly Washington Software Alliance) Industry Achievement Awards. The WSA program celebrates the Washington State-based companies that demonstrate the most exemplary service within the information technology industry. "The key to our success is a combination of innovative technologies and superior client service," noted Richard Corbett, co-founder, executive vice president, and general counsel of Applied Discovery. "Industry-leading technology, award-winning client service, and the most talented legal and technology professionals in the business give our company a solid foundation for continued growth in the future." Applied Discovery's client base has grown significantly in 2003, with the addition of notable clients including: Dechert LLP; Willkie Farr & Gallagher; Kirkpatrick & Lockhart LLP; and Cooley Godward LLP. The company also works with a growing number of corporations, including Pfizer, 3M, and AT&T Wireless. As regional award recipients, Corbett and Weaver will be eligible to compete for one of several national awards, including the Overall 2003 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year. National award recipients will be announced at an event in Palm Springs, California, in November. Recipients of the Entrepreneur Of The Year award become lifetime members of the Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame.
