LexisNexis® Applied Discovery® Expands New York Offices, Bolsters Client Support
Award-winning Client Solutions Group added to Applied Discovery's New York location

February 2, 2004, New York — In a move that further demonstrates its continuing commitment to outstanding client service, LexisNexis® Applied Discovery® today announced the expansion of its offices in New York City. As part of the expansion, the Applied Discovery New York location now includes members of its award-winning Client Solutions Group. Currently staffed with sales and client service representatives who support and develop New York-area accounts, including a roster of Top 100 law firms and Fortune 500 corporations, the New York office now is able to provide training and ongoing project management services for clients. In addition, the Client Solutions Group provides each client with a team of account managers responsible for training, service and support.

Leading these efforts in New York are Bryan Melchionda, formerly a paralegal with Morgan Stanley, and Michael Krasner, formerly a senior antitrust/litigation legal assistant for Collier Shannon Scott in Washington, D.C.

"By further enhancing our New York offices, our clients' desire to have Applied Discovery assistance at their fingertips is met," said Scott Nagel, vice president of Client Solutions for Applied Discovery. "As a leading provider of electronic discovery services to the nation's top law firms and corporations, it is our charge to provide the best continuous client service in New York and across the country."

Since the company's inception, Applied Discovery clients have benefited from superior client service, much of which is directly attributed to the personal attention and quality project management services provided by the Client Solutions Group. For example:
  • Nearly 70 percent of Applied Discovery's business comes from repeat clients.
  • An independent study found that 100 percent of Applied Discovery clients surveyed ranked the company's client service standards as a nine or ten, with ten representing the highest rating.
  • In the past 12 months, client satisfaction surveys have ranked the responsiveness of Client Solutions Group account managers an average of 4.96 on a 5-point scale, with five being the best rating.
"At Applied Discovery, top-quality client service is paramount as the electronic discovery market continues its unprecedented growth and maturity," said Michele Vivona, Chief Operating Officer of Applied Discovery. "Our company's own growth is a good example of the increased professionalism, resources and differentiation we are seeing in this industry."

Sifting through massive amounts of electronic information to locate and deliver specific documents can strain the resources of even the largest law firms. Applied Discovery's electronic discovery technology enables attorneys to review computer-based information in a cost-effective, centralized database. This allows electronic files of any type (such as .doc, .pdf, .xls or .ppt) from any computer-based device (such as a laptop, desktop PC, network server or PDA) to be identified, searched, reviewed, redacted and prepared for production, all from a central repository. As a result, companies and their legal counsel save significant time and money when responding to an electronic document request.

These capabilities have resulted in industry-wide recognition, including being named the 2003 "Service Provider of the Year" by WSA (formerly the Washington Software Alliance). Applied Discovery received the award as recognition for regularly exceeding client expectations as well as for demonstrating the most exemplary service through a strong use of technology, bringing extraordinary quality, creativity and responsiveness to clients.
