Applied Discovery Named "Service Provider of the Year"
Company Recognized in WSA 2003 Industry Achievement Awards

Feb. 6, 2003, Seattle, WA — Applied Discovery, Inc., the leading provider of electronic discovery services, today announced the company was named "Service Provider of the Year" at the 2003 WSA (formerly Washington Software Alliance) Industry Achievement Awards on Feb. 5. The WSA awards program celebrates Washington State-based companies that demonstrate the most exemplary service in the information technology industry. The Service Provider of the Year category honors the company that regularly exceeds client expectations, demonstrating the most exemplary service through a strong use of technology to bring extraordinary quality, creativity and responsiveness to clients. Companies acknowledged by WSA in past years include RealNetworks and Microsoft.

"We are truly honored to receive this award," said Michael Weaver, CEO of Applied Discovery. "This award is particularly gratifying because it recognizes our company's long-standing commitment to client service."

Applied Discovery's dedication to superior client service is demonstrated in a number of ways. For example, the company's Client Solutions Group is made up of account managers who are former practicing attorneys, paralegals, litigation support professionals and IT managers. Each of Applied Discovery's clients has a team of account managers who maintain responsibility for client training and support.

"Since the company's inception four years ago, we have maintained a diligent focus on client satisfaction," Weaver added. "Our client service model is unique in the legal technology industry. We blend innovative technology with superior client service to provide our clients with electronic discovery services that best meet their needs."

In December 2002, Applied Discovery commissioned a survey by an independent research firm to judge the importance of various attributes of electronic discovery service providers. The respondents, attorneys and litigation support professionals at Fortune 1000 companies and Top 100 law firms, reported that client service was a fundamental attribute sought in an electronic discovery provider. In the survey, client service ranked second only to the ability to conduct full text searches of electronic documents, a capability provided in Applied Discovery's online review service.

"As litigation attorneys working with complex issues, large document productions and tight deadlines, it is critical to know that we can call our account manager any time, day or evening," said Mia Mazza, senior associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP. "The kind of client service that Applied Discovery provides is important, and has a significant positive impact on my team's ability to do its work."
