LexisNexis Applied Discovery Receives TechnoLawyer @ Award for Favorite Electronic Discovery Application
LexisNexis receives 12 @ Awards from the TechnoLawyer community for outstanding technology, applications

May 25, 2004, Seattle, WA — LexisNexis® Applied Discovery®, a leading provider of electronic discovery services to the nation's top law firms and corporations, has been named the Favorite Electronic Discovery Application by members of TechnoLawyer, a leading online legal technology and practice management forum with over 9,700 members across the U.S. This recognition was part of the seventh annual TechnoLawyer @ Awards, which were announced earlier this month.

In addition to winning the TechnoLawyer @ Award for Favorite Electronic Discovery Application, LexisNexis U.S., a leading provider of legal, news and business information services, took home multiple recognitions for several of its products and services, making the company this year's top TechnoLawyer @ Award winner. Several LexisNexis applications were named finalists in other categories as well.

"To be recognized by the top lawyers and IT managers in the legal industry is a true testament to the superiority of our products and technology," said Michele Vivona, Chief Operating Officer, LexisNexis Applied Discovery. "Receiving the @ Award for Favorite Electronic Discovery Application is an indicator that legal professionals across the industry see Applied Discovery as a clear leader in the field of e-discovery."

The TechnoLawyer @ Awards encompasses 26 different awards, 24 of which are selected by TechnoLawyer members. These lawyers and legal IT managers buy technology for tens of thousands of law firms, which makes them especially qualified to choose their favorite products, services and luminaries in the legal technology market.

"While Hollywood has long depicted courtroom dramas on television and in the movies, most people don't have an understanding of the technology lawyers use to produce their day-to-day work," said Neil Squillante, publisher of TechnoLawyer. "The TechnoLawyer @ Awards pay tribute to this technology and to the people who serve as a driving force for its proliferation."

Since the company's inception, Applied Discovery's clients have continuously received superior service and have benefited from the company's commitment to continuing technological innovations. This has led to industry-wide recognition, including two 2003 Law Technology News® awards for Product of the Year and Best Electronic Data Discovery System.

The company also was named the 2003 "Service Provider of the Year" by WSA (formerly the Washington Software Alliance). Applied Discovery received the award as recognition for regularly exceeding client expectations as well as for demonstrating the most exemplary service through a strong use of technology, bringing extraordinary quality, creativity and responsiveness to clients. LexisNexis Applied Discovery and the recognition received by LexisNexis during this year's TechnoLawyer @ Awards are examples of how the company offers its customers a complete portfolio of products and services that go beyond authoritative legal research. These include electronic filing, electronic discovery, knowledge management, practice management, time and billing management, system hosting, and disaster recovery services.
