Simplify the Patent Analysis Process with LexisNexis® PatentOptimizer™—Now in Version 2.0

LexisNexis PatentOptimizer Version 2.0, a software tool and research service, has just been fortified with more information and user tools to help you:

  • Develop internally consistent, concise and well-tailored patent applications

  • Analyze and dissect issued patents online—a revolutionary, automated way to construct and deconstruct patents

  • Streamline the patent analysis process and conduct a critical quality-control check

Developed by patent attorneys, LexisNexis PatentOptimizer is the only patent drafting and analysis tool of its kind available. Plus LexisNexis PatentOptimizer also utilizes content from the LexisNexis services (e.g., patent case law), Matthew Bender® (Attorney’s Dictionary of Patent Claims) and Elsevier Science (Compendex®) materials. And the patent-management tools in LexisNexis PatentOptimizer fit seamlessly into your workflow. For example, now LexisNexis PatentOptimizer offers:

  • Check References—Click this button and identify patent citation references included in a patent or application. Get an online report of patent bibliographic data along with related assignee and post-issuance data (e.g., notice of litigation, reissue, request for reexamination, expiration for failure to pay maintenance fees, etc.) Plus this feature is integrated with:

    • CourtLink® for docket information;

    • REEDFAX® for ordering file history information;

    • USPTO Public PAIR system for linking to USPTO application information;

    • HotDocs® for writing out IDS forms (for filing with applications);

    • and lexis.com for retrieving selected patents.

  • Check Claims tools that offer Antecedent Basis checks, including checks for Ambiguous Antecedent, Lack of Antecedent, Lack of Support in Drawings, Lack of Support in Description and a fully navigable user interface, including element tree hierarchy and claim mapping. You’ll also find a Phrases tool to identify phrases exclusive to claims and descriptions. Plus the Claims Tree tool now includes Claim Counts by type, More Like This claim searching, Edit Claim Text and MDC/MDC warning icons.
  • Universal view, i.e., view and navigate tool information and related document text simultaneously. Just select Options > Style.

  • New term/phrase enablement for searching pre-selected Web sites.

  • Remove Mark-Up tool for removing all mark-up (e.g., hypertext links) inserted by LNPO.

Plus, there’s additional functionality in the Claim Tree, Check Parts, Citation and Check Terms tools. More dictionaries and thesauri have been added to the dictionary and thesaurus tools.

Ask your account representative for more information about LexisNexis PatentOptimizer Version 2.0.
