Research Tip: More Tips on Using LexisNexis® Headnotes™

Lexis Search Advisor is a topical classification system that allows you to search easily for relevant cases, treatises, law reviews, and news related to the topic. Individual topics are subdivided into increasingly more precise sub-topics, covering more than 5,000 specific legal issues.

Each LexisNexis Headnote is classified under an appropriate Lexis Search Advisor topic or topics. For example, a LexisNexis Headnote in an employment discrimination case might have the following classification: Labor & Employment Law > Discrimination > Age Discrimination > Employment Practices. This classification will appear above the LexisNexis Headnote.

To search for additional cases associated with the specific topic, click on the folder icon next to the classification. Select a jurisdiction and you can search specific cases or agency decisions that deal with employment practices.
