As you may know already, LexisNexis® SmartLinx™ is a powerful investigative tool you can use to quickly sift through a vast collection of public records materials with a single search and make logical connections between related entities.

You may also know that results are delivered right to your desktop in one comprehensive summary report. From there, you can link to the source documents for your summary report and to summary reports for other entities. And if you’re a visual person, you can use the “Click to visualize this report” link to view the summary report in graphical form—at no additional charge.

What you may not know is that SmartLinx has gotten even better.

Recent Enhancements Improve Searching

It’s now faster and easier to use SmartLinx to find the person you’re searching for and to validate that the individual cited is the right person. Additional public records content means you get a more complete picture of the target person, company, or location and related entities. More frequent updates to public records materials give you a more current picture of the target person, company, or location and related entities.

“Sounds like” search capability (for example, finds “Bird” and “Burd” and “Byrd”), nickname searching (for example, finds “Tom” or “Tommy” for “Thomas”) has been added.

Proximity searching lets you search for entities within a radius of an address element (ZIP code, or city/state) if you know only the general area where a target individual lives, so you get better results.

Entity roll-up shows multiple entries for the same individual combined in a single entry, and the cite list appears in column format—for faster, easier reading.

Warning flags appear in the cite list to alert you to high or medium risk indicators for potential fraud. Risk indicators include people who are deceased, using a post office box, using a Social Security number that was issued before the individual’s birth date, etc.

A new “as-of” date for address results lets you know when a person lived at a particular address and helps you prioritize results to determine which address to pursue for further investigation..
