This class provides a basic working knowledge of the LexisNexis® services. Skills included are how to develop a search request, find cases and other documents by topic and find cases by cite or by party names. In addition, you learn to use SHEPARD'S® Citation Service to determine that your cases are "good law."

Lexis® II
Building on the techniques learned in the introductory class, this session emphasizes time efficient and cost-effective searching tips. Skills include how to bypass menu screens using short cuts, narrow searching with segments, focus on a specific word(s) within an original search and refine searches with advanced connectors.

Lexis® Update
This class is a refresher of the information and techniques learned in LEXIS® I and LEXIS® II, as well as an update of new features and capabilities added to the database since previous training.

Litigation Intelligence using CourtLink®
Learn how to use docket information to: aid in business development efforts; to avoid liability; to help research cases and strategize litigation; and to serve clients more effectively.

Litigation Strategies & Solutions
This course is designed to teach litigation strategies & solutions. An introduction to searching news and business sources, this class emphasizes connectors, moving around in documents, focusing on a specific word(s) in research results and printing. During the training session, sample searches are performed in the NEWS library and others

Public Records
This course is an overview and searching of Corporation Information Library (INCORP) : Provides access to records on active and inactive limited partnerships and corporations registered with the offices of the Secretary of State or other appropriate agencies; Liens Library (LIENS) : Provides access to current information extracted from Uniform Commercial Code Article 9 filings on personal property; Locator Library (FINDER) : Contains information for finding individuals, companies and professionals; Docket Library (DOCKET) : Provides access to court indices, docket information, judgment information and bankruptcy filings from county courts; Verdicts Library (VERDCT) : Aids litigation preparation by providing quick and convenient access to selected online verdict and settlement information for civil cases nationwide.
