Henry Sommer

Attorney; Editor-in-Chief, Collier on Bankruptcy

Henry Sommer firmly believes it's "important to strengthen the bankruptcy law and give people a fresh start." Since early in his career, Mr. Sommer has helped people in need by, for example, advocating for waiver of Chapter 7 filing fees for poor people. He says it'd be great if someone wants to appoint him to the U.S. Supreme Court, but since that's not likely, he's fulfilled by his work as Supervising Attorney at the pro bono Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project, Editor-in-Chief of Collier on Bankruptcy, serving as a leader of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, and working with Congressional committees. In his leisure time, Mr. Sommer enjoys any chance he gets to see Broadway musicals. Given the public interest focus of his career, how appropriate that Mr. Sommer's favorite Broadway musical, Crazy for You, includes the classic tune "Someone to Watch Over Me."
