Barbara Kolsun
Barbara Kolsun is General Counsel
of Stuart Weitzman, LLC, where she started the company's first in-house legal
department. She has devoted significant time and effort to the protection of
intellectual property, serving as Chairman of the Board of the International
Anticounterfeiting Coalition (IACC). She has also spoken and published widely
in the United States, Asia, and Europe on the topic of counterfeiting and trademark
infringement. Ms. Kolsun received her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of
Law in 1982.
Heather McDonald
Heather McDonald is a partner in
Baker Hostetler's litigation group, specializing in intellectual property and
anti-counterfeiting litigation. She has been actively involved in drafting and
lobbying for new legislation in New York State that would significantly
strengthen the penalties for those convicted of trafficking in counterfeit goods.
Ms. McDonald is also the principal architect of a program that holds property owners
liable for the illegal sale of counterfeit goods that take place on their
premises if the owners know that illegal activity is ongoing and fail to take
appropriate steps to remedy the situation.
Dawn Buonocore-Atlas
Dawn Buonocore-Atlas is the Vice
President, Enforcement and Assistant General Counsel for Calvin Klein, Inc. She
is responsible for the worldwide enforcement of intellectual property for
Calvin Klein. Ms. Atlas was also Chair of the Board of Directors of the
International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition (IACC) from 2002 through 2006, and now
serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the IACC. She is
the Editor of the "Counterfeiting in the United States" treatise published by
the IACC. Before joining Calvin Klein in 1999, Ms. Atlas was a Patent and
Trademark Associate with Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto in New York.
