California Federal Judge Dismisses With Prejudice Antitrust Claims Against EBay

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Coin dealers and coin graders failed to sufficiently allege that eBay Inc. engaged in a conspiracy in restraint of trade or unlawful monopolization by eBay's adopting a rule requiring that coins be graded by one of five grading services to be listed on eBay as "certified," a federal judge in California ruled Jan. 9 in granting the defendants' motions to dismiss with prejudice (Universal Grading Service, et al. v. eBay, Inc., et al., No. C-09-2755-RMW, N.D. Calif.; 2012 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 2325; See March 2011).
