Comcast Seeks High Court Review Of Antitrust Class Certification

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Comcast Corp. on Jan. 11 asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review, in light of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. v. Dukes (131 S.Ct. 2541 [2011]), a Third Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruling affirming the certification of a class of approximately 2 million non-basic cable television customers in the Philadelphia market on their claims that Comcast Corp. worked to establish a monopoly in the Philadelphia market and then increased prices once it had eliminated competition (Comcast Corporation, et al. v.
