CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A federal judge in Iowa on March 7 granted the United States' motion for summary judgment against a defendant who defaulted on a federal student loan, rejecting the defendants' arguments that the United States' claim was barred by the statute of limitations, that the action was not initiated by a proper authority and that the United States failed to show that the default occurred (United of America v.
