Jai Pathak, Cross-Border M&A Lawyer, Joins Gibson Dunn in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES – Jai Pathak has joined the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP as a partner. Pathak has extensive experience in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, dispositions, privatizations, joint ventures, licensing, infrastructure development, as well as private equity and structured finance transactions for the telecommunications, IT, banking, hospitality, oil/gas, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. His clients have included governments, financial institutions, investment banks, multinational companies and U.S., European, and Asian companies. Pathak has represented clients in transactions in South and Southeast Asia, including India, Europe, and the United States.
Pathak has practiced with Jones Day since 1985, where he headed that firm's M&A practice in Los Angeles and the California region. He has previously served as head of that firm's India practice and partner in charge of the Singapore office. During his tenure, he also spent more than a decade practicing in London, New York and Cleveland.
Pathak graduated from law school with honors from Oxford University in 1984 (M.A., 1989) and received his LL.M from the University of Virginia in 1985. Having earned his graduate and post-graduate degrees from the University of Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru University, he is fluent in Hindi.
