Holland & Knight Forms Madoff Advisory Group

MIAMI - Holland & Knight has formed a Madoff Advisory Group to assist clients with strategies concerning any losses sustained as a result of involvement with Bernard Madoff's controlled entities. The firm has assembled an interdisciplinary group of lawyers and professionals from Florida, New York City, Boston and Washington, D.C. with significant experience in finance, government investigations, securities regulation and civil litigation to counsel clients on the issues and opportunities facing them related to this scandal.

The team is chaired by John M. Hogan, a former prosecutor and Chief of Staff to Attorney General Janet Reno and partner in the firm's Miami office. Hogan stated, "Holland & Knight is already assisting a number of companies, financial institutions, charitable foundations and individuals who have been impacted by the Madoff entities. We are providing important guidance in assessing claims against the Madoff entities, in positioning our clients to reduce the likelihood of third party claims against them, and in accessing and providing avenues for governmental relief for aggrieved parties."

Holland & Knight's Madoff Advisory Group will help clients stay abreast of related developments, including civil and criminal litigation and legislative and regulatory actions.
