Kamlet Shepherd Elects John D. Mereness and Denise D. Riley as Partners

DENVER - Kamlet Shepherd & Reichert, LLP announced today the election of two new partners, John D. Mereness in the Litigation practice group, and Denise D. Riley, Chair of the Labor and Employment practice area.

John Mereness
 
Mereness focuses on corporate and commercial litigation. He also has an active construction litigation practice, including the negotiation of construction contracts exceeding $100 million in value, and complex multi-million dollar construction arbitrations. He has significant experience with contractors, developers and subcontractors in lien foreclosures, change order disputes, delay claims, public works contracts and bonding claims. He has represented sureties and insurance companies as well, and tried and argued cases in trial courts, arbitrations and courts of appeals.
 
Denise Riley
 
As chair of Kamlet Shepherd's Labor and Employment practice area, Riley represents employers in employment-related claims before federal and state courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Colorado Civil Rights Division. She regularly advises local and national employers on a wide range of issues, including personnel policies and practices, employment contracts, restrictive covenants, equal opportunity complaints, internal investigations, management and workforce training, employment audits, compensation, wage and hour matters, terminations, layoffs, large scale reductions in force, performance management, and dispute resolution measures, including arbitration, mediation and transactional employment matters. Additionally, Riley has extensive experience in commercial litigation.
