Gary Walker Becomes Reed Smith Corporate Partner in Pittsburgh
Reed Smith LLP today announced the addition of Gary R. Walker as a partner in the Corporate & Securities Group resident in the firm's Pittsburgh office.
Mr. Walker was formerly a partner in the Pittsburgh office of Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LLC, where his practice focused on general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, securities and corporate finance.
The firm's Corporate & Securities Group has more than 170 lawyers in 12 offices doing significant deals and other cutting-edge work in a variety of areas and industries including private equity and venture capital, public and private M&A, securities offerings and regulation, life sciences transactions, technology deals, energy, advertising and media and others.
Mr. Walker represents a wide range of companies, from start-ups and middle market companies to large public corporations. He has structured and closed complex transactions for private and public entities in the financial services, energy, manufacturing, technology, telecommunications, retail and service sectors. In addition, he counsels clients on deals involving board of director fiduciary duties, management compensation and shareholder issues.
A 1981 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law, Mr. Walker immediately joined Eckert Seamans, where he remained before joining Buchanan Ingersoll in 1984, where he subsequently became a partner. He returned to Eckert Seamans as a partner in 2003.
