Madoff Trustee Seeks To Recover Nearly $45M From Madoff's Wife

The trustee for the consolidated liquidation proceedings of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC (BLMIS) sued Madoff's wife on July 29, seeking to recover nearly $45 million in funds he says Ruth Madoff received from her husband's involvement in a massive Ponzi scheme (Securities Investor Protection Corp. v. Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC [In re Bernard L. Madoff], [Irving H. Picard v. Ruth Madoff], No. 08-01789, S.D. N.Y. Bkcy.). The complaint was filed by trustee Irving H. Picard in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
