Dr. John Murray is as familiar with a jazz sideman as he is a journalistic
sidebar, and can just as deftly tickle the ivories as he can quote Corbin on Contracts. His curriculum vitae
defies having enough time to accomplish all he does, yet the Duquesne
University Chancellor and former President and Dean explains his ongoing body
of work by stating his belief, We are all

"it" for Dr. Murray is what he always wanted to do: Teach and write.
He authored 19 books, op-eds and articles, treatises, classroom books, teaching
manuals, and law review articles (that have been cited in U.S. courts in every
jurisdiction). In addition to his renowned Murray
on Contracts and Murray, Cases and Materials on Contracts, he
authored supplements to the Corbin multi-volume treatise as well as revising
one of the volumes. Recently, Dr. Murray applied his vast contract law
expertise and scholarship to Corbin on
Contracts Desk Edition distilling the 89 chapters of Corbin on Contracts to a stand-alone,
single-volume. He completed this project in one year, while maintaining a
full-time teaching schedule, and self-effacingly summed up the work as an

committees, the Sister Thea Bowman Foundation, and the Spiritan Worldwide
