Key Part of Pennsylvania Voter ID Law Delayed Until After Nov. 6 Election

HARRISBURG, Pa. - A ruling in the voter ID trial issued by Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court Judge Robert Simpson on Oct. 2 means that all registered voters will be allowed to vote in the Nov. 6 election, regardless of whether or not they have photo IDs. As in the April 24 primary, Judges of Elections may ask for photo IDs, but voters are not required to show one (Viviette Applewhite, et al. v. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, et al., No. 330 M.D. 2012, Pa. Cmwlth.).
