Federal Judge Dismisses State Law Claims From Debt-Collection Suit

TACOMA, Wash. - A federal judge in Washington on Jan. 25 dismissed without prejudice the state claims in a suit alleging that a debt collection agency's letter caused a consumer "frustration, anxiety and humiliation," finding, among other things, that the consumer has not pleaded that the letter rises to the level of "outrage" (Zachary R.
