Judge: Professional Liability Policy Does Not Provide Coverage For Medical Incident

OKLAHOMA CITY - The clear and unambiguous terms "gynecology" and "obstetrics" in a physicians professional liability insurance policy do not provide coverage for an underlying claim that a doctor's negligence caused a baby to suffer severe brain damage during the birth process, an Oklahoma federal judge ruled Jan. 28 (Admiral Insurance Company v. Rupert R. Thomas, M.D., et al., No. CIV-12-0198-C, W.D. Okla.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 10754).
