Federal Magistrate Judge Rules In Favor Of Loan Officer In Discovery Dispute
DETROIT - A federal magistrate judge in Michigan on March 14 denied the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.'s motion for a protective order prohibiting the discovery of 12 loan files in a suit the FDIC, as the receiver for a failed bank, brought against a former bank loan officer alleging that he caused the bank to incur more than $8.2 million in losses (Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. v. Timothy J. Cuttle, No. 11-13442, E.D. Mich.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 35131).
