Jennifer Jordan

General Counsel, MEDVAL, LLC

Jennifer Jordan is General Counsel and a founding member of MEDVAL, LLC. Having witnessed the impact the first CMS memo had on the workers’ compensation industry while she was in law school, Jen decided to redirect her legal education and structured settlement work experience into an expertise in Medicare Secondary Payer compliance.

Jen’s expertise is recognized nationwide. She previously held positions as a staff member of the Law Review as well as acting Editor-in-Chief of the University of Baltimore Intellectual Property Law Journal. Jen is currently a regular instructor for Lorman Education Services and a contributing author to nationally distributed publications such as the American Bar Association’s Tort, Trial and Insurance Section magazine, The Brief. Through this exposure, Jen has been invited by a number of organizations to partner in educational seminars nationwide. Additionally, she has been designated as an expert witness by the United States Department of Justice for her extensive knowledge of MSP issues.

Jen attended the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art, concentrating in Graphic Design, which resulted in her first career. During her tenure as a graphic designer, Jen was forced to deal with numerous copyright and trademark issues, from which her interest in the law developed. Jen later enrolled in the University of Baltimore School of Law where she obtained a Juris Doctorate, concentrating in Intellectual Property Law and Business Law, and a Master of Business Administration.
