Despite the inconclusive outcome of COP15 and the significant issues facing countries in the coming year to implement a legally binding agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), a critical area of focus for business and the legislature remains to build an underlying legal infrastructure, as this will play a crucial part in countries' attempts to reach their targets to help reduce the impact of climate change.

Companies that emit greenhouse gases are facing increasing demands to provide climate change reporting. This note provides an overview of the developments in climate change reporting requirements, both internationally and specifically in the UK and the US.
