Alabama School District Sues For Cost Of Replacing Fluorescent Light Ballasts

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Tuscumbia, Ala., City School System alleges that Pharmacia Corp. was negligent and acted with wanton disregard when it sold fluorescent light ballasts containing polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) in a putative class action filed Jan. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama (Tuscumbia City School System v. Pharmacia Corp., No. 12-332, N.D. Ala.).
