Whether it's running in ultramarathons, visiting Icelandic glaciers or teaching students about green buildings, Cullen Howe's hobbies keep him in touch with the well being of the planet. As it happens, what he does in his spare time is closely related to what he does for a living. As an environmental law specialist at Arnold & Porter LLP, much of Cullen's work focuses on climate change, where he attempts to educate lawyers and the public at large on the enormous cooperation necessary to adequately address this problem.
In addition to his work on climate change, Cullen is the managing editor of Environmental Law in New York, edits the Environmental Law Practice Guide, Brownfields Law and Practice, the Environmental Impact Review in New York, and has drafted chapters in the Environmental Law Practice Guide on climate change and green building. He believes that "anytime you can match what you do with who you are, it's good" and appreciates the creativity the work for LexisNexis offers him as he keeps us informed about the latest developments in these important areas of the law.
Prior to joining Arnold & Porter, Mr. Howe practiced for six years at two litigation boutiques in Manhattan, where he focused on commercial litigation and employment law.
Mr. Howe is a graduate of Vermont Law School, where he was the managing editor of the Vermont Law Review, and a graduate of DePauw University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
