California Appeals Court Differentiates Home Protection From Insurance Coverage

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Citing the California Insurance Code and related case law, a panel in California's Fourth District Court of Appeal clarified July 22 that home protection contracts are not insurance contracts and, as such, cannot give rise to a bad faith tort claim (Old Republic Home Protection Co.
