NEWARK, N.J. - A class action complaint filed in a New Jersey federal court on Dec. 11 alleges that flood insurance claims stemming from hurricanes Irene and Sandy were wrongfully denied due to either a misinterpretation or a misapplication of the term "basement" as used in the Standard Flood Insurance Policy (SFIP) (Patrick Donnelly v.
